Jackie Cohen teases her upcoming EP with the utterly spellbinding "Darlin'"
LA artist Jackie Cohen proves that she is set for big things with stunning track "Darlin'".
The San Fernando Valley native currently resides in New York and is warming up for the release of her new EP, entitled Tacoma Night Terror Part 1: I’ve Got The Blues, with "Darlin'" acting as tantalising taste of what is to come.
The new collection of songs were produced by Jonathan Rado alongside Brian D'Addario and Michael D’Addario (better known as The Lemon Twigs), and there's definitely more than a whiff of their marker on "Darlin'". It is a song that is riddled with fantastical riffs, where Cohen's vocals feel as if they are from a time gone by, where a vintage twang reverberates off of every note.
However, the song also feels remarkably refreshing, where fuzzed-up basslines add a surreal undertone to the track, in some ways transforming it into a folk song from the future. Cohen's opposing worlds all collide in extravagant and remarkable fashion.
Having recently signed to Spacebomb, Jackie Cohen is quickly marking herself out as a colossal new talent to keep an eye on.
