Recent XL signings Ibeyi have dropped the follow up to their label debut track “Oya” and revealed details of their first EP.
“River” comes via an appropriately stylised clip directed by Ed Morris, which mixes “Oya’s” percussive and vocal trademarks in a catchy, bass-heavy and funk-flecked arrangement. It’s yet another intriguing shot from the 19-year old Cuban-French sisters and their exciting collaboration with XL head and producer Richard Russell.
The track gets an official release on Ibeyi’s Oya EP, available for immediate download, with a physical release following in late summer. Watch the video for “River” below”:
