Henry Green unveils “Slow”, reinforcing his nous for loungey R&B-infused pop
Poise can be such a powerful tool in music and Henry Green has that less-is-more knack down to a T as he unveils the title track from his forthcoming EP on the increasingly impressive tastemaking label Akira (Phoria, Allman Brown, Still Parade).
“Slow” continues in a similar vein to its predecessor that really caught our ears in April: Green’s hushed, haunting vocal whispers out above loungey guitar, moments of gently howling accompaniment and ticking, twitching percussion that grows organically into the song, which finishes all too soon. “We could move so, we could move so slow / Push away from, push away from it all” he muses longily.
Green’s ascent continues effortlessly with this assured release from a debut extended player which will undoubtedly be a work of beauty, aligning the young singer-songwriter with the likes of Alex Burey and R I T U A L; get lost below.
