Sydney-based producer and vocalist Guerre delves into the folds of late night dance music on his new single “Tuk”.
As we here at Best Fit have said many times before, there is an undeniable amount of creativity being unearthed across Australia’s cities, plains and coastlines. Of course these talents are nothing new for the country’s bustling music scene, it just took the rest of the world a while to take notice.
The most recent act to catch our eye, the mysterious Guerre, has cast an intriguing spell on electronic music with his previous single, “Deatheat” and now “Tuk”. Filtering spoken word inaudibles through shadowy rhythms and rippling bass, “Tuk” evokes an intoxicating vulnerability. One that requires you do nothing more than let the chanting percussion and reclusive harmonies take you over completely. Expect much more to come from this thought-provoking young artist.
‘Tuk’ is taken from Guerre’s debut album Ex Nihilo, which drops 4 July on Yes Please Records.
