Listen: Gold Is For The Golden Team - "Gimme Something" [Premiere]
Mysterious Swedish producers Gold Is For The Golden Team join the dots between indie, electronic, hip-hop and pop. The result is a blissful and dreamy new single “Gimme Something”, taken from their upcoming EP, Culture Classic.
Choosing to remain anonymous is all very well, but Gold Is For The Golden Team have a plan. The first of six monthly releases that will eventually form their EP, Gimme Something, opens with charming indie-pop: a warm, echoey sound brightened by the sort of melody that lingers long in memory. The chorus fires arrows of melody heartwards, sweetened by glorious harmonies unerring in accuracy, hitting the target full on. Just when you think that’s it, there’s a little dart sidewards infected with handclaps and stripped-back sounds, and then it’s over.
