Question consciousness with Essx Station on wistful new single "Awake or Dreaming"

While the duo are now based in Los Angeles, they're both a long way from home, with Winter hailing from Toronto and Andrew from London. For "Awake or Dreaming", their third release, Essx Station use their music to create feeling, following the more subdued tones of their debut "Can't Go Back" and relatively new single "Before / After".

As lead vocalist Winter explains, "This song is about the moment when you realise that your reality has finally exceeded your dreams. It's about being happy with what you have, so that you'll always have enough. As Lao Tzu said, 'If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the moment.' This song is about the power of now."

The pair are currently working on their debut EP, set for release later this summer. They have secured a publishing deal with Sony/ATV, so expect plenty more whimsical dream-pop from this two-piece in the future.
