Listen: Erik Hassle feat. Tinashe – “Innocence Lost”

Like so many of his female Scandinavian cohorts, Swede Erik Hassle is at his best when evoking his disconsolate love life atop sprawling, inky-black instrumentation.
Erik’s latest cut “Innocence Lost” typifies his somewhat frosty approach since returning to the pop fold after a self-imposed exile, of sorts. It’s all about fizzing trap drums, sky-scraping brass and undulating synths, rather than super-crimped and coiffured choruses. Even a slinky turn from US songstress Tinashe can’t upstage the 25-year-old’s impassioned crooning – if you didn’t already know it, Erik’s back, and this time he really means business.
