Empara Mi unmasked with release of high-dream-soul-pop stomper "The Come Down"
Empara Mi's debut track "Wanderlust" was a fine entry point for an artist clearly in thrall to the vocal prowess of sultry '80s soul as much as contemporary cinematic, moody production values
And now we have the follow-up: "The Come Down" is streaked with stormy and skewed R&B dramatics and a grandeur of delivery that recalls the bombastic vocals of Wildbirds & Peacedrums' Mariam Wallentin.
The song contains a "powerful cautionary message behind today's temptations to project fake personas for the sake of appearances, hiding behind a mask of falsities," the elusive lady tells us.
Alas, we're only a little close to knowing who Empara Mi is with a new photograph by London-based shooter Eva Pentel.
We're also promised a follow-up video which "serves us with a very literal interpretation of the song's message in the most unexpected delivery."
