Emily Litta shares the noughties-inspired single “Not A Love Song"
Filtered with a '90s vibe and underlined with a '00s attitude, Emily Litta draws on overcoming toxicity throughout her new track "Not A Love Song".
Featuring melodic R&B sequences, London-based songwriter Emily Litta shares the nostalgic new single "Not A Love Song". Patterned with soulful beats and an intricate bass motif, the single draws from funk, jazz and hip-hop whilst blending alt-pop with old school R&B.
Despite feeling melancholic, "Not A Love Song" is an empowering anthem about overcoming toxic relationships. Declaring that this definitely is not a love song, the single fights back with determination and ferocity.
Emily Litta · Not a Love Song"The idea behind 'Not A Love Song' came about one day when I was in the studio and felt like writing a track that explored the consequences of a toxic relationship,” says Litta. “I really wanted it to be an unfiltered f*ck you rather than another one of those sad love songs, so we kinda went the opposite way with it. It’s ballsy and a little in your face which is exactly what makes it so much fun to perform live.”
