Dive into the warped world of Elliot with the fuzzy "35th Middle East Art Space in Humble Bragswick"
Elliot's press material describes him as a "beer corpulent and modest twenty-two year old Swede". It's perhaps fitting then that Ellioth Axelsson, his real name, writes pop so sleazy you can hear it faintly echoing from the nearest gutter.
His new single, "35th Middle East Art Space in Humble Bragswick", seems to take aim at neo-hipster yuppie culture, but Elliot prefers to leave the picture unclear: "The title suggests the song is about next level middle class edge lord kids locusting poor urban neighborhoods", he says, "and you could derive that from the lyrics. It's also about the art of Argentinian barbeque and two actors who resemble each other. It is coherently incoherent. I was spaced out"
Despite it's debauched fuzz and inherent weirdness, "35th Middle East Art Space in Humble Bragswick" possesses an easy melodic swing that makes extremely addicitive to listen to. There are a lot of people making lo-fi rock right now, but few are creating songs with an identity and charisma as strong as Elliot's.
