Recent touring stints with the likes of Swim Deep and sharing a member with Guildford electro-woozers Mafia Lights might give you a slightly off perception of Wolf Alice. Bonding over burgers, “real” Ray Bans and “man crushes on Willy Mason”, the group – led by singer Ellie Rowsell - have replaced such expectations of grungy slacker jams with a Nebraskan folk feel and peddle-steel guitar vibes. It’s a real mark of intent, setting them well apart from any London peers.
