Pále is the moniker of Manchester-born, London-based producer Leo Marcus. A quick trawl through his Soundcloud page shows it’s already shaping up to be an ideal place for some atmospheric after-hours listening.
His well received Catacombs EP, released on Fat Cat Records last year, feels like the precursor to some promising things in 2013, as evidenced by this new track ‘Winder’.
Made up of soft shuffling percussion with heavy bass tones and tiny spaces of perfectly timed silences, it at times feels like an authentic garage track that’s strolled into this decade from the b-side of a forgotten 90s classic but there’s added moments of flair in the form of trickling synths that make it undeniably modern.
