Here’s further evidence that How To Dress Well is gradually sliding further and further towards a sort of delightful Prince parody. His cover of Elite Gymnastics‘ ‘Here, In Heaven’ sounds very much like a eulogy; all reverb-drenched church organs and semi-whispered ultra-’80s vocal. Stick with it through the kitsch, though, because you’ll ultimately be rewarded with a rumbling, bassy, gut-punch ending.
The track is taken from Ruin 3, a collection of covers of Elite Gymnastics’ Ruin, out in November on Acephale.
