DIY everyman Jimothy Lacoste's ode to London Transport is amazing and ridiculous
"I want to hate this guy but I just can't force myself to do it," reads one of the comments under London rapper and producer Jimothy Lacoste's "Subway System" on YouTube.
18-year-old Lacoste - aka Timothy Gonzales - is a post-recession Mike Skinner with ultra-lo fi beats and canny wordplay. His observational rap is very British and very grounded in reality and will absolutely divide everyone who hears it.
Last year's "Future Bae” and “Getting Busy" went (relatively) viral thanks to an uttelry surreal aesthetic that mixes dad dancing with images of urban metropolitan life that are uncomfortably relatable to anyone in the capital. His Instagram is aboslutely something you should follow and his merch is next level.
He's gonna be massive.
