Friday late-afternoon probably isn’t the best time to approach an already grumpy, and increasingly thirsty editor with new music, but there are exceptions to the rule; we present to you, London’s Dig.
Self-written, recorded, produced and probably released, ‘Sometimes’ is the debut tune from the sibling-led East End five-piece. Nodding to The Breeders and Speedy Ortiz, with those fabulously droll lyrics, burbled out with icy finesse over squirrely guitar licks and big 90s bass and drums atmospherics, ‘Sometimes’ absolutely falls on the poppier side of the alt-rock divide. There’s nothing left to do now but start getting Diggy with it. Sorry, it is Friday after all.
