Dewy Sinatra unveils "Bubble", a paean to urban isolation
South London's Dewy Sinatra has unleashed the anxious follow up to his Wasted Youth EP last year. It's called "Bubble" and shows a new side to the burgeoning experimentalists.
Fusing old school hip-hop, futuristic R&B and chilled-out electronica, Sinatra spouts out an elegy to insomniac angst: "In my bubble, in my bubble/eyes wide shut in a world of trouble..."
It feels like a psychedelic trek through the streets of some alien metropolis; there's a vague familiarity, but a lunging uncertainty too. It's an uneasy listen that provokes goosebumps, reminiscent of all those times that stressed-induced sleep deprivation has taken hold.
