Electronic producer DeModa pares it down on “Downtown Glow”
New York-based producer DeModa (real name David Johnson) teams up with vocalist Slow Shudder on new track “Downtown Glow”.
Having made his name on remixes of well-known tracks - from Porter Robinson ad Madeon’s “Shelter” to Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” - DeModa here chooses to show off his flair for original material. “Downtown Glow” is a spacious dance-pop track, floating a delicate vocal melody over flickering electronics.
“Downtown Glow” is taken from DeModa’s forthcoming Lucid Dreams EP, out 12 May via Blind Contour Collective. Johnson describes the project as “the audible product of a difficult crossroads in my life and my music career.”
“The music, to me, embodies the anxiety, heartache, and exhilaration associated with making risky decisions and taking bold chances to pursue our dreams. I’m relieved to finally share these songs because most of them have been sitting on my computer for months."
