Delaire combines '80s sheen with '90s grooves on new single "Take It Slow"
North Londoner Delaire is back with another enticing electronic pop offering.
"Take It Slow" follows up on Delaire's other 2017 offfering "Loving You" but pulls back a little on the 21st century outlook.
With a chiming guitar line acting as a red thread and synths shifting warmly around a pitter-patter of a drum pattern, there's definitely an '80s electropop feel to the track, but Delaire's light vocal and a sensual bridge add a touch of intimate '90s R&B to proceedings.
“The song doesn’t focus on one person or one thing, I had so many memories and thoughts in mind when I wrote it," says Delaire. "The second verse is all about the reality of staying awake till 5am and wondering around aimlessly for a week after feeling the emotional and physical effects! I was thinking about a time when an ex had suggested we were getting too old to carry on living in such a party scene all the time.”
Tinged with regret but forward-looking, "Take It Slow" once again shows that Delaire is one to watch out for.
