daine teams up with Danny L Harle for spiritual emo ballad "Angel Numbers"
Rising alternative star daine completes her brilliant AA side single with the Danny L Harle assisted "Angel Numbers".
The follow-up to last month's "Ascension", "Angel Numbers" sees the Filipino-Australian singer/songwriter continue to breakout in different directions. Her fourth single, after debut "Picking Flowers" and "My Way Out", we see daine's sound continue to develop while staying true to her emo indebted roots.
With experimental pop master Danny L Harle (Caroline Polachek, Rina Sawayama) on production duties you can be forgiven if you were expecting daine to swerve into a world of bubblegum, candy-coated bangers. That's not on her agenda quite yet.
The new track does offer a lighter side to daine's world and an insight into a perspective far more positive that the negative fundamentals of "Ascension". Perhaps this is Harle's influence, or morever that of the song's spiritual connection linked to its title.
Angel numbers are "a consecutive sequence of regularly occurring numbers that in numerology act as encouragement from a higher power that you’re on the right path." The single's interlude represents some of daine's most frequently observed numbers... "4444". Thanks to her latest releases, hopefully it's clearer than ever to daine that she's on the right path.
