Curren$y – Full Metal

With the exception of genuine demi-god Jay Electronica, New Orleans resident Curren$y is probably my favourite rapper in world at the minute. He has it all: a lazy yet utterly captivating flow, fantastically inventive, beautiful lyrics, and reliably brilliant beats.

His previous releases have been produced by Ski, who has been having something of a renaissance in recent years. Next up, though, is the Covert Coup mixtape, produced by Alchemist and due out 20 April. ‘Full Metal’ is the first leak from that tape, and it is every bit as good as we could have hoped.
