Named after one of greatest architects of the last century, Corbu come fresh from Brooklyn with the aim of constructing aesthetically pleasing, non-worldly landscapes. This outlook is embodied in their new video for “We Are Sound”, which you can see here first on Best Fit.
-There’s an element of the 80s sci-fi in “We Are Sound”, not least from its VHS tint or the unidentifiable shiny object that the band centre around. The track’s interplay between driving guitars and spacey synths pleasantly echoes this, and while initially it is slightly difficult to find direction in the song, it is redeemed by its clever climax. Admittedly, getting lost momentarily can be a good thing, particularly when it’s part of this upcoming band’s aesthetic.
We Are Sound (self-produced) is available in the UK now via 3Beat.
