Claudia Kane blends trip-hop with western soundtracks on mighty new track "The Silence"
London's Claudia Kane reveals new track "The Silence" on Best Fit.
"The Silence" is the first track to be taken from Kane's upcoming second EP.
It's slathered in classic trip-hop motifs - vibrant, ritualistic beats, Lamb-esque vox, and the headiest synths - but there are moments that veer towards cowboy flick soundtracks. Galloping acoustic strums, electric axe licks, and epic frontier-shattering strings... there's a grand sense of space in this track. It's sprawling, empty, isolated, and yet very, very free. It's heroic.
23-year-old Kane prefers to write about "truth and grit", saying that "none of my songs are about love, because I’ve never been in love."
