Chloe Martini teams up with BB Diamond to showcase strengths and vulnerabilities on "Dark Noise"
“Dark Noise” sees rising producer Chloe Martini enlist the talents of vocalist BB Diamond on an arresting dancefloor banger.
With her second EP Never Twice The Same due out on Friday, Martini is already carving herself a niche as a self-taught producer and musician. “Dark Noise” is another slice of urgent, addictive, dance music, and sits on the EP alongside collaborations with Anne-Marie, Vanessa White, and Chiara Hunter. BB Diamond completes this lineup of featured artists, her soulful vocal perched neatly atop Martini’s decadent soundscapes.
“R&B 90s girl bands like TLC, Destiny’s Child, [and] The Good Girls were so iconic,” Martini explains, of the influences behind her EP. “It’s what inspired me to become a producer. We don't see many women joining forces these days to create great music; there’s an air of self-promotion at the moment. I feel like female empowerment needs to be about more than strong individuals championing themselves. I’m not about collaborating with acts simply because they are hot right now. On this EP, I just wanted to work with some of my favourite female vocalists and embrace the fact that they're strong and independent but not shy away from their vulnerabilities too.”
