Cherryade are sick of your nonsense on new single "Blah Blah"
London duo Ella and Alex, better known as Cherryade, are back with a new single - and it's another pop banger.
Following on from "Get By" and the political jabs of "Theresa May (Bullshit)", Cherryade aren't getting any less confrontational or colourful on "Blah Blah".
Over xylophones and beats which give the track a dancehall vibe, vocalist Ella switches between attitude-laden rapping and a sing-speak delivery as she takes to task wastemen who are all mouth and no trousers. Synths whoosh and there's some dirty bass in the track...and while there's a playful element to "Blah Blah", Cherryade are not her to mess around.
“We wrote this song about people getting distracted with material things and focusing on style over substance," the duo tells us. "We love pop music but so many artists we love don’t really say anything, so it's partially addressing that as well, but at the same time it's also really tongue-in-cheek and fun.” If there's one thing Cherryade are, it's a whole load of fun.
