Chelsea Lankes airs "Love. Hate. Pain. Killer" from short film Mr. Happy, starring Chance The Rapper
L.A. based synthpop musician Chelsea Lankes is sharing her track "Love. Hate. Pain. Killer", exclusively on Best Fit.
We recently featured Lankes' reimagining of hair-metal classic "Too Young To Fall In Love", but the singer-songwriter has turned her hand to something darker.
The track original featured on the Vice short movie Mr. Happy, directed by Colin Tilley and starring Chance The Rapper (you can watch it at the bottom of the page). You can find out more about the director and the film here.
Speaking about the cut, Lankes said:
"I wrote this song from the place of chance's character in the movie- someone who is desperately trying to escape his life and fighting a war within himself. Watching the film, I felt like his character was torn between loving and hating his pain. That's what this song is about- the complicated relationship we have with ourselves and our desperate attempts to get away from it all."
