Overflowing with childlike energy from the word go, and laced with more dreamy pop vibes than every member of Haim’s internal dialogue put together, Melbourne’s Chela has thrown a seriously big beat at the title-track off her latest EP, Romanticised.
Think Solange’s vocals over Two Door Cinema Club riffs, but funkier and less of an iTunes sub-genre car crash. The six track record also features remixes from the likes of Gold Fields, Collarbones, Boys Get Hurt, Le Bruce and Fascinator, and promises to be something close to 80s inspired groove-pop perfection.
‘Romanticised’ is out 26 August on Kistune.
