Undeniable talent Cara Rose reveals debut EP with the breathtaking piano ballad "Tough Love"
Singer/songwriter Cara Rose completes Urges with the release of its stunning final track.
The rising Glasgow-based artist is most at home sitting behind the piano singing her heart out and that's where we find Cara Rose on most of the tracks which make up her exceptional debut EP Urges. From the release of her debut single "Learn to Speak" it's been clear that Rose has an incredible skill for storytelling and a voice to go with that.
Finding an affinity for soul at an early age, she hones the influence of Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill into her upfront autobiographical songwriting. She always wears her heart on her sleeve; punching through feelings of temptation on the record's title track and tackling the confusion of young love on standout "Ain't No Use", but Rose is at her best when it's just her and the piano.
With the release of "Tough Love" today we see her complete the five-track collection with just that, an exceptional piano ballad. Of the final track to unveiled Rose says ""Tough Love" is about someone communicating a deeper level of care through a brash, firm exterior, and even though it can be difficult to comprehend, you know that their love and support is always there."
This evening (2nd October) we'll be sharing a live session from Cara Rose, recorded in her bedroom, so you can experience Urges in the most up-close and intimate setting. Join us at 6.30PM BST for the latest session in our Off The Road series.
