Broen sign to Bella Union, unveil typically eclectic - and brilliant - new single "❤️"

We've been fans of Broen for a while now at Best Fit, so it's great to hear the Norwegians have signed to Bella Union for their brand new single.

The Oslo-based five-piece released their excellent debut EP Yoga in May last year and on the basis of new single "❤️" they’re continuing to produce unclassifiably brilliant music.

A band perhaps previously best experienced live, Broen have captured the intensity and eclecticism of their shows on this new track. Featuring cosmic ambient synths, robot voices, rumbling brass and time signatures, the glue which holds it all together is Marianna Roe’s stunning vocal performance and magnetic personality. With a sparkle to match the band’s outfits Roe’s voice switches between beautifully swooping passages and a hip hop influenced cadence, and is never anything less than captivating.

It’s Broen as a whole, though, that matters and this bodes well for their debut album which is due later in the year.

Broen will play two dates in London in April as part of Music Norway’s Øya Nights, celebrating the music of Oslo's Øyafestival. The shows will take place on 25 April at Kamio and 26 April at Shoreditch House. More info can be found here in due course.
