Stockholm native boerd, aka Bård Ericson, is a multi-talented artist whose intricate and complex pallet reaches far and wide.

Boerd plays the double bass for the Swedish Royal Opera, Swedish Radio Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestras, but also has an impressive ability to create beautifully abstract electronic work that brims with tingling atmosphere.

"Void" is a track taken from his newest offering, the mini album entitled Static, which features six carefully crafted tracks and is out now via Anjunadeep. Clocking in at just under six minutes, it's an icey exploration of loneliness and the experience of having to deal with your own company and the many emotions that can be attached to loneliness.

Vocalist Ellen Arkbro adds a ghostly tinge to the track that feels as though it was made for those early hours of the morning when the outside world is still slumbering but your mind runs away with itself. It basks in experimentation, and despite it's abstract nature it still feels approachable and is full of wonder.

"'Void' is a song about a certain state of loneliness, which you’re not quite sure if you enjoy being in or not," Explains Ericson of the track's beginnings. "I’ve known Ellen Arkbro since high school, she was mainly a jazz singer at that time but since then studied composition at the Royal Music College in Stockholm and nowadays she makes the coolest electronic drone music. I had written the lyrics for 'Void' already and asked her if she wanted to record some vocals. She came to my apartment/studio and had already come up with the melody so one hour later the track was basically finished! I think her voice fits the sound perfectly."

"Void" is available out now via Anjunadeep.
