Billy Lockett breaks his own rules and runs back to his ex on pop earworm "Feels So Good"
We've all been there - defied our own rules and gone back to someone that we absolutely should not be with and then over-analysed the consequences of our questionable actions the next morning. On his latest song, Billy Lockett perfectly articulates that moment of regret and mixed emotion with honest pop-fuelled elegance.
"Feels So Good" sees Billy Lockett ditch his piano-led ballads for a full-on pop explosion, opting instead for driving, synthesized beats and an anthemic chorus that revels in his mixed-up emotions that feels as though it was tailor-made as a mega singalong for future festival appearances.
"Why does it feel so good?" Lockett repeatedly asks with a soaring power, knowing full well that waking up in his ex's bed wasn't his greatest idea, but still riding on the high on the promise that things might be as good as they once were.
In his own words, Lockett explains the meaning behind the track, saying "'Feels So Good' is about when you keep waking up next to your ex, and the complications of breaking up with someone that can result in you wanting them more. It feels nice to break up the piano ballads while the suns out!”
