Listen: Bat And Ball – Unrelated [Premiere]
Devon born, Goldsmiths bred fivesome Bat And Ball are hot on the heels of fellow moody pop behemoths-in-waiting London Grammar.
With the spittle-flecked teenage angst of ‘We Prefer It In The Dark‘ already impressing, this new cut from their debut EP pares the urgency back a little, with pirouetting stop-start guitars and tin can snare sounds providing the spindly backing for Abi’s rich, Florence-evoking purr. ‘Unrelated’ is slower paced but no less indicative of the depth to their songwriting prowess, like a softly chugging steam locomotive, it’s got a classic feel, whilst moving forward with great purpose.
Bat And Ball’s debut EP We Prefer It In The Dark is out 14 October through Hospital Samples.
