Barcelona trap queen Bad Gyal brings the fuego on "Jacaranda"
When we talk to Spanish bands about the next big thing coming out Spain, Bad Gyal always gets a mention.
The 20-year-old Barcelona-born MC has been working out her own take on dancehall sound since dropping her first mixtape Slow Wine a year back and broke through with the Catalan-sung "Indapanden". She's now a rising star of the Spanish rap scene, making her name through a string of YouTube videos.
Her channel is here and is worth the click.
A trappy distillation of Bad Gyal's take on dancehall, new track "Jacararada" was the result of a collaboration with Popcaan producer Dubbel Dutch, who hit up BG after discovering her on Soundcloud.
Bad Gyal pops up at Sónar Barcelona on 16 June if you're hungry for more.
