Asami Zdrenka shares stripped-back cover of Aqualung's "Strange and Beautiful"
19-year-old pop singer/songwriter Asami Zdrenka has revealed her take on Aqualung's "Strange and Beautiful".
Once one quarter of pop group Neon Jungle, Zdrenka is going it alone with a series of covers. With Neon Jungle, she filmed two gorgeous sessions with us ("Trouble" and a cover of Lorde's "Royals").
Zdrenka is in the studio working on her own original material, and is sharing these live covers so fans can get an idea of what's been influencing her upcoming material.
Explaining her Aqualung cover, Zdrenka says:
"'Strange and Beautiful' by Aqualung is one of very few songs that I have heard where I can really feel and relate to every single word the artist has written.”
We premiered Zdrenka's rendition of Placebo's "Pure Morning", which was the second chapter of the trilogy. Have a look at Zdrenka's first part, "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" - her take on Saint Etienne's take on Neil Young.
