Listen: Arkon Fly - “Back Seat”
90s garage continues to rear its funky head as Arkon Fly back-up March’s “Through The Fire” with an equally nostalgic nod to the resurging genre.
Made up of multi-instrumentalists Big Jam and Bixby, the London-based duo are producing a brilliantly modernised brand of twitchy electronic music, catching the attention of seminal 90s label Locked On (The Streets, Todd Edwards).
This latest number mixes cold, crisp keys with buzzing arcade game bass and spongey layered melodies to concoct their typically smooth and swagger-filled brand of disco-ready garage. “Let’s take it to the back seat baby / everything you do just turns me on”, the chorus cries with a laid-back, breezy and catchy charm.
