ARK maps the changes of a move to London with the majestic pop of "Operator"
ARK follows up her piano-pop debut with rich and vivid sophomore single "Operator".
"Operator" is the second release from ARK's three-single deal with Kobalt, inspired by the artist's return from the suburbs to the hustle and bustle of London life. It maps the changes faced in that adjustment period against a backdrop of warm synths and expansive percussion – a move away from the more acoustic sounds of "Made For Us". Thankfully, ARK's powerful yet exquisitely controlled vocal is an element that remains much the same, holding its own alongside "Operator"'s majestic arrangment.
"It’s a song that needed to be written in order for me to let go and embrace the vulnerability that we all feel here in London!" ARK explains of the track's inspiration. Whilst that vulnerability might be frightening, it seems to open all manner of opportunities for this exciting new act.
