Watch: Annie Eve – “Southern” [Premiere]
.
London-based singer-songwriter Annie Eve presents the evocative indie folk stylings of “Southern,” premiering today on Best Fit.
-With “Southern”, newcomer Eve steps into the realm of homespun and introverted indie folk inhabited by early Cat Power and Daughter. The crown jewel of the track is Eve’s striking vocal delivery, which ascends from a hushed, pensive murmur to a quietly powerful lilt. Slide guitar adds a subtle shine to the song’s wistful tone.
Directed by Jake Ben-David and Johnny Goddard, and produced by Youth Hymns, the accompanying video is a lo-fi tapestry weaving shots of the singer-songwriter with cityscape glimpses.
“Southern” is one of three tracks from the upcoming Feversome EP, to be released on 17 March via Young and Lost Club. Pre-order here.
