Andrea Di Giovanni is more electric than ever on club-ready "Bang"
Pride's Got Talent finalist and vocal LGBTQ+ advocate Andrea Di Giovanni doesn't know the meaning of the word coy – and you know what? It's super refreshing.
There's so much to love about this artist's vibrant personality and the manner in which it translates to his music. An unapologetic ownership of queer culture and its undeniable influence on decades of wider pop culture shines brighter than ever on new single "Bang".
"Bang" sees Di Giovanni roll up to the club with a look like Fame Monster-era Gaga and electro-camp beats like RuPaul. This is 100% a good thing. "I think I like it better when I'm on top," he intones over crunching dance beats. Synths build an almost frantic intensity, with doctored vocal samples all but begging to boom from the speakers over a crowded dancefloor.
"'Bang' is an empowering anthem about self confidence and not feeling sorry about it," Di Giovanni explains of the track. "At times I feel like we seek external validation, shame makes us feel like we need to have permission to be our true selves. To that I say: 'do whatever you want with a BANG!' Life's too short to care, own whoever you are and want to be, feel your oats, strut down the streets with confidence – it’s such a good feeling and a contagious vibe."
