New York four-piece altopalo construct cavernous electronic soundscapes on “Honey”
Combining soft indie melodies with jittery electronic rhythms, altopalo’s “Honey” is an effortless showcase of the group's ability to melt the boundaries of their music, infusing every release with an experimental flare.
Described as a “love song to Lexapro”, altopalo draw on their experience as four musicians in their own right to imbue “Honey” with soaring electronics and swelling synths, with lead singer Rahm Silverglade weaving silvery vocal strands together to create a web of polychromatic harmonies.
The mournful syllables and eerie electronics contort and twist across the twitchy musical terrain, but amongst the spiked landscape is a message inherently human at its core - self acceptance.
“Honey” is the lead single from the group's upcoming sophomore album farawayfromeveryoneyouknow, which is a record they describe as “ruminations on a transitional period”.
