Ajia is electrifying on fiery new EP opener "Hype"
Taken from her new EP, entitled Visions, Ajia makes her mark and shows what she's capable of on ridiculously catchy track "Hype".
"Hype" is one of those intoxicatingly summery tracks that induces summertime FOMO. Full of breezy, carefree melodies where Ajia puts her soulful vocals at the forefront, she sings "Let me just live my life", seeking out the good times and beckoning them to play on all summer long.
It's a playful track that saunters in with playful bombast, paying its tribute to 90s R&B but with a fresh 2018 take whilst Ajia's lyrics cascade in elegant, attention-grabbing motion.
It's the perfect opener to the six-track EP that hop-scotches across jazz, neo soul and smooth R&B. The lyricism seems to flow effortlessly and the whole body of work marks Ajia as an intriguing new talent who is here to soundtrack all the good times.
