Áine Cahill sends for Mark Zuckerberg and @Jack on new track "Beauty Is A Lie"
Áine Cahill's new track is a balance of opposites, starkly calling out day to day trangressions on social media against gently understated melodic pop
"Beauty is A Lie" is 23-year-old Ireland-born Cahill's first since signing to East-West and is a co-write with Jessica Sharman who worked on Ward Thomas’ second album Cartwheels - the first Country album to reach top of the UK charts.
The Will Dohrn (MIA)-directed visual takes a literal approach to the song's lyrics. "We are seeing the world through screens: televisions, phones and computers and that is what the video is focused on," says Cahill.
"They contain inner meanings of how we all portray an image of ourselves to the world," adds Dohrn. "I thought the perfect way to illustrate this was by using the actual devices in which we take and see these images."
