The Line of Best Fit
23-year-old Leicester-based producer and artist Scott Xylo has dropped his first track after signing to Bristol label Black Acre.
"Ariya" sees the Gilles Peterson-championed Xylo clash elements of afrofuturism, escapism and surrealism to create a modern sound with a very vintage feel.
Xylo's music draws on the mellow and eclectic aesthetic of contemporaries like Mo Kolours, Rhythm Section’s Al Dobson Jr. and MNDSGN, whilst taking influence from the '60s psychedelic rock of Pink Floyd, the psychedelic soul of Funkadelic and the extra-terrestrial adventures of Sun Ra.
