Acting Strange soar through haunted thoughts with "Universe Blues" [Premiere]
Nurtured in an offbeat background in the East End of Glasgow, Acting Strange premiere their second single "Universe Blues."
Cousins Ali and Billy Strange started playing music together over long summers spent working in their Uncle Gabby's taxidermy workshop. Following their relative's passing at the start of this year, the duo returned to the shop where they learned their musical craft. They recorded their debut EP using a Tascam 8 track, just days before the building was torn down.
"Universe Blues" is the second single to be shared from that debut. After the classic rock and roll stylings of "Rumble", the band's new offering proves entirely lighter. Breezy acoustic refrains meet enticingly tropical electric riffs and echoing vocals.
Infusing elements of the psychedelic into their mix, Acting Strange drift towards the exotic with a fond nostalgia: a potent getaway from the song's haunting lyrics.
Night On The Tiles is released on 11 September via In Black Records.
