Album Stream: Valleys – Are You Going To Stand There and Talk Weird All Night
Just two weeks ago, Montreal based duo Valleys leaked ‘Hounds’ – an intriguing taster of their sprawling new album Are You Going To Stand There and Talk Weird All Night. Today, they return with an exclusive stream of said album which is due to drop via Kanine Records on 29 April.
An adventure in dark cinematic undertones and brooding melancholy, Valleys operate in a world that sits them somewhere between the autobiographical torch songs of The National and the gaunt, electronic textures of Chromatics. Throughout the 45 minute run time, the duo finely balance haunting soundscapes with enchanting dreampop. The sound of a serene dream interrupted by a nagging demon, leaving a constant trail of unease throughout.
