Earlier today we gave Liars a pretty-damn-stellar 9/10 for their latest recorded effort, WIXIW. And with good reason, too. As ever with the diverse and experimental threepiece, the release sees a sonic shift and stylistic turn in the road. This time round, and with their follow-up to 2010′s anguished Sisterworld, things are a little more intricate and far less intense on first listen. Captured in a disused office block, the setting of creation certainly feeds back into the album; Liars appearing more outright electronic than ever before. Up there with the bands’ best, just on a different kind of pedestal.
Why not take a listen for yourself though? You can stream the album below. It’s out 4 June on Mute.
