Grimes set to host MTV VMAs red carpet coverage
That’s a news headline we never expected to write, but – you know what – we’re pretty damn happy we’ve been able to do so. Yes, Grimes has been chosen to host MTV Style’s Red Carpet Report ahead of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
“I wish there was some alternative to the red carpet like the blue carpet or the black carpet for anti social people,” the avant-popstar wrote on Twitter back in May. ”I feel like there is no way for me to not make a fool of my self on the red carpet at the met ball in 2 days. i will surely trip…” she later said of her Met Ball appearance.
But now it looks like Grimes will be putting her red carpet demons to rest this Sunday (25 August), co-presenting the segment with fashion designer Rachel Antonoff.
The MTV VMAs will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with the likes of Kanye West, Drake and perhaps even Daft Punk scheduled to perform.
