Holy Wave grapple with an unrecognisable world on new song, "dewey's dirge"

Texas psych-rock outfit Holy Wave share "dewey's dirge", the newest single from their upcoming album, i'm DADA.

"dewey's dirge" follows lead single "s33.u.in/HAL", and sees the band confront the disorienting experience of watching the world change around them. It's a reflective track on an album that explores conversations about fatherhood, relationships, and how to remain present in a fast-moving society.

Speaking about the single, vocalist Ryan Fuson shares, “'dewey’s dirge' is as much a song about things changing as it is about wanting to change them. It’s about wishing you knew a world long gone, and at times, resenting those who were part of it. We wanted the different parts of the song to reflect the lyrical content of each section, which is why there are tempo changes and major tonal shifts. In my head, I imagined being in this perfect time and place, only to watch it become hellish without a moment’s notice. I wanted to make a song that felt like that.”

i'm DADA is released on 10 July via via Suicide Squeeze Records
