John Newman released his second record Revolve on Friday, to widespread acclaim - and now he's sharing his Track By Track guide on Best Fit.
Explaining the creative processes and thematic content of the record, Yorkshire-born Newman divulges some interesting details, looking back on far he's come in just a short time. “I remember going out for a cigarette, just after we’d finished recording,” says Newman, "and I thought to myself, ‘This is very surreal, and I’m in LA and making my second record. I’m actually doing it...’"
The record features big singles "Tiring Game", his Calvin Harris collab "Blame", and "Come And Get It", and ahead of its release, Newman performed at London's Hyde Park supporting Taylor Swift. We caught up with him there, and snapped some Polaroids for a special feature.
Greg Kurstin, Jack Splash, and Harris have all added production alongside Newman, and includes guest vocals from Charlie Wilson, an intro from Hollywood's Idris Elba.
Revolve is out now on Island. It follows 2013 debut Tribute, which saw Newman lunge into the big leagues.
