Our own Simon Gurney recommended HEALTH’s debut record for those in need of “some noisy robot tribalism”. Well, we all need some of that every now and again. We caught up with one of their member, John Famiglietti, to answer our equally ambitious 20 Questions… some of the answers might not be suitable for those of a nervous disposition…

1. Describe your sound in 3 words.
Crazy Racket Fast.

2. What was the first record you ever bought? And where did you buy it?
The Stooges Funhouse. Off The Record in Hillcrest San Diego.

3. What’s the best cure for a hangover?
Kombucha + Water.

4. What’s on your rider?
Kombucha, Water, and Beer.

5. How do you get ready for a live show?
Take a shit.

6. What’s your favourite song to play live?
Zoothorns.

7. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Girls Gone Wild.

8. Who would win in a fight, a stoat or a goat and why?
What the fuck is a stoat? I will vote goat.

9. Who’s your favourite new band at the moment? Tell us a bit about them.
Videohippos, very sad almost “childish” shoegaze, from the amazing Baltimore Wham City scene, best scene in the US right now.

10. Who would play you in a film based upon your life?
A young Keanu reeves, giving the performance of his life.

11. Dead or alive, what 5 acts would you have play with you at a festival?
Pink Floyd, Dead Kennedys, The Doors, The Smiths, Gentle Giant.

12. If push comes to shove, what is your all-time favourite album?
Oh fuck man. Uh…Stooges Funhouse how about that?

13. What’s your most memorable on the road story?
I don’t remember.

14. If your life flashed before your eyes, what would be the highlights?
A few select shows. Sexytimes. Drugtimes. Childhood fun.

15. What’s the best piece of advice someone has ever given you and did you take notice?
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Nope.

16. If you had to leave a body part to science, what would it be?

Why just a part? Why not the body?

17. What’s the best book you’ve read and film you’ve seen in the last 6 months?
I haven’t read a book in 6 months (pathetic I know). No Country For Old Men.

18. What three things could you not live without?
Food, Water, Sleep

I have IBS.
