Welcome to our new weekly round-up of what’s happening in the grand concert halls, dimly lit basements, airy cafe’s and grimy sweatboxes across the UK. All acts featured come with the Best Fit ‘Seal Of Approval’ so you can be assured that your hard earned cash will be well spent. To tempt your wallets this week, we’ve gathered dates from THEESatisfaction, Fanzine and Oberhofer.

Frànçois and the Atlas Mountains @ Brudenell Social Club, Leeds 16/04

Frànçois Marry and his Atlas Mountains first grabbed our attention with a spell binding opening set for Electrelane at XOYO last year and since then they’ve been making waves as the first French act to sign to Domino Records.

Odonis Odonis @ The Captain’s Rest, Glasgow 17/04

The creation of one Dan Tzenos, Toronto trio Odonis Odonis recently released debut album Hollandaze is a whirlwind half-hour of visceral proto-punk and scuzzy shoegaze charm. We can only expect more of the same from them when they rock up to The Captain’s Rest this week.

Empty Pools @ The Louisiana, Bristol 18/04

Jittering guitars and soft percussion rattle below plaintive vocal moans in Empty Pools debut effort ‘Vanderbilt Cup’ and we can’t wait to see what the Britsol four-piece have to offer at their hometown show this Wednesday.

Oberhofer & Fanzine @ Camp Basement, London 18/04

Brad Oberhofer and his cohorts display a natural knack for pop hooks: their extravagant, infectious and jubilant notes underpinned with a distinctly forlorn air born from real life heartbreak and brought to life with dramatic keys. Best Fit Recordings‘ signings Fanzine are playing as well, so what excuses have you got left to miss this show?!

Tickets are available now. RSVP via Facebookeep . Check out more dates here.

Sleep Party People @ Buffalo Bar, London 19/04

Born from the Lynchian leanings of Copenhagen based multi-instrumentalist Brian Bratz, Denmark’s resident rabbit-mask wearing five-piece Sleep Party People are heading to our shores to showcase tracks from their recently released sophomore full-length We Were Drifting On A Sad Song. Pale Seas are supporting so it should be a great night.

This show is Sold Out. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates.

THEESatisfaction @ Start The Bus, Britsol 20/04

Sub Pop signed MCs/vocalists/producers Sasia Irons and Catherine Haggis-White put an entirely fresh spin on that early 90s soul/jazz tinged hip hop with their full length record awE naturalE and they know how to put on a mesmerising live show. Check out a session we did with them a couple of weeks back:

of Montreal w/ Kishi Bashi @ Sound Control, Manchester 22/04

Speaking to Best Fit recently, of Montreal main man Kevin Barnes said his aim on the new record Paralytic Stalks was to create “something raw, somewhat exhausting and terrifying, psychotic and beautiful – all of the things that make life worth living.” We feel we can rest assured he’ll bring the same kind of intensity to his Manchester performance, which sees band violinist Kishi Bashi step out for a solo support slot.
