Janet Weiss announces new tour with Quasi that overlaps with Sleater-Kinney dates
Sleater-Kinney's ex drummer Janet Weiss has announced a new tour with her other band Quasi that overlaps with the original dates with Sleater-Kinney.
Weiss quit Sleater-Kinney on 1 July due to the group "heading in a new direction".
The band had announced their first album in four years, The Center Won't Hold (produced by St. Vincent) a few weeks before, and had already announced a tour with Sleater-Kinney for their new record.
Now Weiss has announced some new tour dates with Sam Coomes in their Quasi band, and they overlap with Sleater-Kinney's tour that kicks off on 9 October.
The remaining members of Sleater-Kinney, Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker, have continued with the release of The Center Won't Hold, and, despite finding Weiss' departure "hard and sad", will still be performing their original tour dates.
Last week Sleater-Kinney revealed the title-track from their new album, "The Center Won’t Hold".
